This Sculptor's Hyper-Realistic Works Are Literally So Good They're Scary

Apparently, when it comes to sculpting there is such a thing as "too good."

Let's play a game: humans or dolls?

If you guessed "humans," you'd be wrong.

Try again. Human, or doll?

Wrong again. It's a doll (although I'm sure you've caught onto the game by now).

These are actually the eerily realistic works of Russian sculptor Michael Zajkov.

And they're both insanely impressive and incredibly terrifying at the same time.

Zajkov graduated, who graduated from Kuban State University of Russia in 2009, originally worked at a puppet after college from 2010 to 2013, while also attending a graduate school. It was there that he developed his passion for sculpting - namely, dolls.

After one of his first series of works was featured at “Art Dolls” expo in Moscow in 2013, the talented sculptor was catapulted into renown.

And as you can imagine, he uses only the best materials for his hyper-realistic dolls.

He uses a specific polymer clay for their skin...

Glass eyes from Germany...

*shudders*

And French mohair for hair.

Quite possibly the creepiest part of Zajkov's work is the fact that it looks like he's holding shrunken human heads when he's sculpting each piece's face.

On the bright side, their shoes are pretty adorable.

All jokes aside though, Zajkov possesses a rare talent, and his work truly his mind-blowing.

But still...

They're pretty creepy.

Apparently there are professions you can be "too good," and thanks to Zajkov, we now know sculpting is one of them.
