This New Zealand Couple's Wedding Video is Unlike Any You've Ever Seen

This is seriously emotional.

A haka is a traditional Maori war cry used to intimidate opponents.

You may have seen it performed by New Zealand rugby players before a match.

In this instance, one was performed by New Zealand couple Aaliyah and Benjamin Armstrong's wedding party during their reception.

And there wasn't a dry eye in the room.

The haka is characterized by loud chants, exaggerated facial expressions and other synchronized movements.

The groomsmen started the haka as a way to express their love and respect to the couple. When performed at a wedding or special occasion, the haka is meant to be seen as a tribute to ancestors and a way to preserve their culture.

One of the bridesmaids and several guests even joined in.

The couple knew that the wedding party had organized a haka for them, but were surprised at how emotional it was.

After the haka, the groom, Benjamin can be seen giving a "hongi" to several of the groomsmen.

This is simply a traditional greeting where two people press their foreheads and noses together. Both the bride and groom are of Maori descent, but many people assume that the haka was performed only for the bride, because of the groom's light skin.

"He's probably more Maori than I am," Aaliyah said. "I'm of mixed cultures. I've got Samoan, Maori and European in me. I'm a fruit salad as they would say down here. But he's got Maori on both his mom and dad's side."

Check out the video to see the unforgettable moment for yourself.
Congratulations to the beautiful couple!
