Companionship can come in unusual forms.

This baby's name is Tyler. When Tyler was only about 9 months old, his family adopted a duckling.

The duckling's name is Beaker, or "Bee" for short.

Tyler and Bee, who live in Texas, quickly became BFFs.

They love to swim together, as you might expect.

The two have grown up together.

Beaker shows his age a little faster, but the two are learning the ropes of life together along the way.

Whenever Tyler starts to cry, Beaker runs to his aid.

The two play outside together, slide down slides, and even share snacks.

Tyler's family now owns a total of 11 ducks.

But Beaker seems to be the one Tyler really attached to.

Beaker always sleeps inside, and even wears a diaper like his infant buddy.

He's been known to wear capes, too.

They pretty much do everything together.

Including mischief-making.
