Check Out This Helpful Tip To Trick Your Brain Into Think You're Full
Pizza is round, yes, but it also quite literally makes the world go round. Carnivorous humans and vegetarians alike can't help themselves but to eat pizza endlessly. It's the only food that tastes equally as good hot or cold. You can also eat it for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Pizza is even a college degree now. Men can't even handle themselves around pizza (when women are also nearby, that is).
If that's you, or you're a woman struggling with pizza addiction, here's how to control those cravings.
Yes, looking at pizza can be very mesmerizing, but according to a new study, there's a way to control the mesmerizing effects that pizza has on your eyes, salivary glands and stomach cravings.
According to the Journal of the Association for Consumer Research it all comes down to tricking your eyes, that is, if you want to withhold yourself from the joy of devouring endless amounts of pizza. Yes, you can trick your eyes into thinking you've eaten more pizza simply by serving the pizza in a very specific way.
The study finds that pizza served on a larger tables made study participants believe that those slices were also larger than normal, thus they ate less pizza.
Wait…what?! Why would anybody want to eat less pizza? The research showed no explanation for that, but if you're one of those sad souls, the trick would be to eat more pizza (well less in the long run) off of larger tables.
However, the optical illusion works the same in reverse. Wait…what?!
Yes, it works in the opposite direction as well, so if you want to continue over-indulging and gorging on pizza until it hurts, just serve your pizza on a smaller table.
The mind sees the pizza on a smaller table, so it wants to believe the pizza slices are smaller as well, thus you'll eat more to get to the point of full-on fulfillment. Pretty crazy, right? Who knew our brains were doing so many mathematical calculations when we're trying to just eat some pizza?
