These Puppies Are Being Nursed by a Momma Cat and It's Adorable

When two chihuahua puppies were born prematurely, they were adopted by an unexpected parent.

Watch this cat, who was a brand new mother, adopt two premature chihuahua puppies.

A Chihuahua staying with the SPCA in Titusville, Florida gave birth two four puppies prematurely.

Two of the puppies died at birth, and the surviving two were shunned by the mother. Poor little fellas.

Luckily, this cat had just birthed a litter of kittens and was nursing.

With her own newborns, she seemed to be the perfect candidate for adopted mother.

Upon presenting the pint-sized chihuahua pups to the mother cat, it was obvious she took to them right away.

She licked, sniffed, and rubbed them, which are all cat for "Okay, I'll adopt you." Maybe not exactly, but she took in the puppies as her own, began nursing them, and now they're an adorable interspecies family.

According to the adoption coordinator at the Titusville SPCA, the mother cat "is doing a great job raising [the puppies]."

This is a great story of love and kindness between animals. The mother cat had her own biological offspring to raise, but she still took in some little puppies and nursed them like her own. I couldn't think of anything cuter.

Too cute to handle.
