WTF Japan.
McDonald's fries are LEGENDARY. So when McDonald's Japan announced that next week they are debuting the "McChoco Potato", aka chocolate covered French fries, it certainly raised a few eyebrows...
The dish, which they are calling a "tasty twist" on the popular menu item, is drenched in cacao-flavored chocolate and white milk chocolate for a sweet and salty taste.
Sure, this is strange and all, but Japan has some p bizarre foods that almost makes this look... normal. Here are 13 other examples of questionable Japanese foods.
1. Burger King's Kuro Pearl burger, served on a bamboo charcoal bun and squid ink black sauce.
2. Does squid and octopus ice cream tickle your fancy?
3. This crispy wasp cracker is a delicacy in Japan.
4. If you're not feeling the travel bug for Japan yet, perhaps hachinoko, deep-fried bee larvae will do the trick. Yum!
5. You have to be crazy to like these smelly, fermented soybeans.
6. Nankotsu, aka chicken cartilage, is crunchy to every bite.
7. If you're looking to branch out from sushi, perhaps you should try some basashi - horse sashimi.
8. If you'd rather stick to seafood, chow down on some namako - a scrumptious succulent sea slug!
9. Or, try some shirako, aka fish testicles with semen, for a nice dose of omega-3.
10. If fish guts are more your speed, you'll just loveeee some shiokara.
11. Looking to add some texture to your salad? Go for some chirimenjako - tiny, dried baby fish that mixes well with your favorite greens!
