We're all in this together.
It's an exciting time to be a Wildcat again! The "High School Musical" cast reunited for the 10th anniversary special on January 21 and made all of our teenage dreams come true again.
The cast we grew up with, including Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Monique Coleman, Corbin Bleu and Lucas Grabeel, headed back to East High, making us instantly nostalgic for Disney's best TV-movie ever. (Don't even argue with me on that one.)
But there was one certain floppy-haired, blue-eyed fella that only appeared in a measly pre-taped message.
Zac Efron was apparently sticking to his status quo of being a movie star now, but he DID post a sentimental tweet after being heckled by fans for a previous tweet about being "grateful" for other things that didn't include "HSM."
Zac's original tweet said: "I'm grateful for a couple things today: Martin Luther King Jr & 10 million followers on IG," according to Vulture.
If you're anything like me and "High School Musical" defined your life as a teen, here are 21 things you can relate to.
1. Let's just say what we're all thinking first: Troy Bolton (and his beautiful head of floppy hair) stole your heart as a tween.
2. He gave you all the feels when he was sweatin' it out in that red basketball uni in "Get'cha Head In The Game," while singing about his conflicted emotions.
"My head's in the game but my heart's in the song." Oh, Troy. So deep and complex.
3. That dance was iconic to you, and you'd spend hours trying to recreate it with your friends.
4. When Troy came back for "HSM2" and was all angsty in "Bet On It" you couldn't help but swoon even more. That damn choreography made your heart melt.
His dad was a TOTAL jerk and didn't want him to do what he loved!
5. The connection between Troy and Gabriella was your definition of relationship goals, before that was even a thing.
6. You lived vicariously through Gabriella because she was basically YOU.
Just a normal girl, living in a normal world.
7. This song gave you butterflies in your stomach, and you felt the sparks flying just minutes into the movie.
You longed to meet the love of your life at karaoke.
8. As much as you were in love with Troy, every time Chad was on screen you had the urge to touch his luscious hair.
9. Chad was cool, hot, athletic and just such a good friend sometimes.
He understood Troy on a deeper level, even when they had their disagreements.
10. Whenever anyone would say, "we're all in this together" you would instantly think of this:
And start doing the dance.
11. You lived in fear of Sharpay but secretly wanted to be as fabulous as her.
12. Sharpay and Ryan were your definition of style icons, and they greatly influenced how you dressed at school.
They had THE BEST clothes.
13. Also, Ryan and Sharpay sort of did the "Hotline Bling" dance like way before Drake?
14. Troy's troubled relationship with his dad was heart-wrenching to you, because all he wanted to do was sing. AND HE WAS SO GOOD AT IT.
FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS, TROY.
15. As far as you know, there's nothing greater than this song.
16. Whenever there was any skin-to-skin contact between Troy and Gabriella, it sent chills down your spine.
17. And when they finally kissed, it was actually electrifying.
Even if it was just a lame little peck.
18. When Troy's dad sees how talented his son actually is, you were like, "SEE?! YOU SHOULD HAVE JUST LET HIM FOLLOW HIS DREAMZ."
19. Because how could he not be proud that he created this?
20. The graduation scene in "High School Musical 3" made you tear up because they were all growing up and going their separate ways.
21. You'll forever be a Wildcat.
