There's something so dangerously alluring about the cigarette that it perpetuates all things cool, yet everyone knows exactly how deadly smoking these little sticks of nicotine can actually be. The fact is, smoking a cigarette just makes a person look cool*. The same can be said about English people, in that everything they seem to do is instantly cool. Ever heard of The Beatles? The Rolling Stones? David Bowie? Alan Rickman? I rest my case.

Anyway, point is, this magpie spotted in Manchester, England, has picked up on both cool trends (smoking and being English), and has become everything that encompasses an aura of awesome on this Earth.

This type of thing is nothing new: the thing being animals of a certain geographical region picking up on the mannerisms of the people who inhabit it alongside them. You may remember when New York City saw both the birth of "Pizza Rat" and "Milkshake Squirrel." This is seemingly a more British (cool) recreation of similar events, being it's a magpie, and it has been found smoking a cigarette on what appears to be a gloomy day.

However, the difference is that both "Pizza Rat" and "Milkshake Squirrel" were one time moments, but "Smoking Magpie" is nothing new to the residents of England.

And, as you can see, those in England understand these magpie's yearning for a quick smoke during all this cloudy weather, and are willing to lend a lighter to their bird friends. What seems inevitable is that we're going to start seeings PSA's from TRUTH about avian-related smoking statistics.
