Trying To Memorize The Periodic Table? You'll Love This New Battleship Game
Periodic Table Battleship is a new version of the classic game that can really help kids learn the elements. The idea was thought up by (or at least presented by) Karyn Tripp.
It's Battleship, and it's one of the most fun strategy/guessing games of all time.
To make Periodic Table Battleship for your kids, simply print out four copies of a table of the elements, and arrange them so they resemble boards from the classic Battleship. Label the rows alphabetically, and the columns should already be numbered. Then give your kids markers and have them circle elements in groups–one group each of 2, 3, 4, and 5. Then, play as you would regular Battleship.
By playing Periodic Table Battleship, your kids will be having fun while subconsciously memorizing the periodic table. That way, when they start learning about the basics of chemistry, they'll have a leg up! Check out more science fun you can have with your kids on Karyn Tripp's blog.
