This Technology Genius Has Mashed Together The Best Of All Cinema With This New Website
You know how there's literally no reason to ever look away from any of your electronic devices? There's just so much good entertainment out there that we can consume at any given moment–there's no reason not to. On top of that, there's tons information about the entertainment we love, and for entertainment we may potentially love. The only problem is: all of these things are in various corners of the web, so it's hard to look at each of them individually. However, yombato has a solution.
Obviously, you're already familiar with Rotten Tomatoes. If not, it's your collective for all things in cinematic reviews. You get ratings from critics and fans alike, so you can see how people feel about your favorite movie, or an upcoming title.
Yombato explained to Upvoted that:
"I was a frequent user of Rotten Tomatoes to find new movies, but I found its search ability was very limited. They have a great database of information but aren’t allowing users to properly interact with it."
He saw some room for improvement when it came to sifting through their unlimited information. More to come on the reason behind italicizing the word "sift."
You're also obviously familiar with IMDB (Internet Movie Database). This is your one stop shop for all things about the background of your favorite films, TV and the stars of these creations.
Yombato wanted to combine the likeness of both Rotten Tomatoes and IMDB into an even greater destination for all things cinema information. You know, a place you could go to sift through all the information about your favorite cinematic works? That's when he created the website:
Get it? "Sift" through "Cinema," right? That's what we were leading toward. Okay, back to the story now.
Cinesift is "a more general idea of creating a straight-to-the-point way of querying lots of movie rating data in order to find new movies," according to its creator. It takes the ideas behind both aforementioned sites and makes them one.
But, here's the even greater part that Cinesift is starting to offer that neither site has:
1) information if your favorite titles are available for streaming on either Amazon Prime or Netflix
–AND–
2) currently there's a play button for said titles available on Amazon prime
Read about your favorite entertainment, then watch it all in one convenient site! And, Netflix streaming buttons should arrive soon. Now you seriously don't need to look up from your screen ever again–especially if on Cinesift.
