Kuli may only be a one-eyed cat, but he can pump tubes like nobody's business.
Meet Kuli. He loves to surf. He also happens to have only one eye... and by the way, he's a cat.
Kuli lives in Honolulu, Hawaii with his owners Alexandra Gomez and Krista Littleton.
Kuli was rescued from the streets when he was a tiny, starving kitten. His owners got him the eye surgery he needed.
Kuli may only have one eye now, but he's happy, healthy, and he's a surprisingly adventurous cat.
Kuli began surfing when he was only 6 months old.
Overall, it seems Kuli is pretty into surfing.
He even practices for the gnarly waves in his spare time.
Unlike most cats, Kuli doesn't seem to have much aversion to water.
His owners have stated they think this is because they would bathe him regularly while he recovered from eye surgery as a kitten.
Apparently Kuli's full first name, "Nanakuli," translates from Hawaiian to mean "to look blind."
Which is fitting–he only looks blind, in a literal sense, but he's much more than just a one-eyed cat.
When he was just starting out with his surfing career, Kuli's owners would paddle around gently with him on the board. Shortly thereafter, he was ready to take on his first wave.
The rest is history. Here's to Kuli taking on the gnarliest of tubes in his (hopefully long) surfing career!
