My Oma always told me freckles are God's kisses which was somewhat of a comfort for the odd reactions they usually got. But one London-based photographer is seeking out the oft-teased freckled population for his latest photo project.
London-based photographer Brock Elbank has a penchant for large-scale photo projects.
The photographer has recently finished a series on beards and is now midway through his next project.
#freckles
For the #freckles project, Elbank aims to photograph 150 freckled photographs for a 2017 exhibition.
The inspiration for the project came years ago when he photographed a friend's son who had the most vivid freckles he had ever seen.
Butlbank says he's always loved the look of freckles.
He also discussed the stories many subjects would tell about being teased and tormented for their freckles.
Elbank's stunning work is definitely showcasing the beauty of freckles, and can hopefully change some childish "dirty" perceptions of them.
After all, the models and photography is nothing short of beautiful.
"Many of the subjects shot so far are such incredible-looking humans … amazing-looking individuals from all walks of life."
He has even included his own daughter in the series.
His eldest, pictured above, is said to get her freckles from her mother and "has to start somewhere" with these dainty dots.
Subjects have traveled from all over the world to be captured for Elbank's project.
And he's still taking submissions of naturally freckled folks.
Yes, fake freckling products do exist.
If you'd like to be a part of the shoot, start by sending Elbank a “very clear, straight-on, passport-style colour photo, with no makeup" to studio@mrelbank.com.
