If You're A Lazy Person, You'll Recognize These 6 Behaviors... Here's How To Stop Them
Being lazy is one of the easiest things to do in the world because literally all you have to do is nothing. That's why you probably have found yourself doing that, which is nothing, on many occasions. Doing nothing is so easy, because, as stated it's nothing, so you don't have to do anything, but at some point you'll realize this nothingness campaign has carried far too long. Maybe it's time for a change? There's a simple way to start not doing nothing: start by reading this in its entirety.
1. You're dreading doing something, which is understandable, but completely avoiding it is ill-advised.
You think to yourself that you're in a slump, but actually, it's probably just the rain cloud following you around due to the fact you know you should be doing said activity. Instead of just blaming it on a slump or any other outside factors, you should look inward instead and realize you need a little motivation in your life.
2. Even when you realize you need a little motivation in your life, you'll turn your back on that motivation as well (which includes said task at hand).
You could just make it impossible for yourself to not do the task, like giving yourself a deadline, but as a lazy person you'll probably just push that deadline, and then push the extended deadline, and so on and so forth. As a lazy person, you just can't seem to get yourself out of this funk. That's okay because maybe it's not your fault? Maybe your body just can't handle it right now?
It's not because you just don't want to do something, it's because your body is in dire need of some rest. You've been overwhelmed by all these tasks and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Shut-eye is the best thing for you right now (so you have convinced yourself). Instead of actually diving into whatever it is, you'll promise to get started right after this much-needed rest. Then it's off to the races!
4. You probably continually compare yourself to others and just think that there's no reason to even try because they're better than you anyway.
It's much easier to just convince yourself you can next live up to (blank), so there's no point in trying. It's much easier to just sit by the wayside and watch as others flourish, rather than actually put in the effort to accomplish what you want. Just keep telling yourself it's because they're better than you and not because you're being lazy about the whole thing.
5. If and when you finally get yourself motivated enough to actually start doing something with your life, the middle of the entire process will be when you want to give up.
Starting was the hardest part, but now that you've made it through that, you need to see whatever this task at hand is through. That's the middle part, and that's the part when it's easiest to just go back to being lazy and doing what you do best, which is nothing, remember? That's when you need to take a long look in the mirror and say to yourself:
"Oh, c'mon!"
6. You probably convince yourself that you've completed a task long before it's actually done.
Being lazy and attempting to get out of that slump has only one option of success: getting things done. Well, the easiest way to get things done is to just tell yourself it's done. Take for instance, me–the author, hello: I was recently putting together a couch from IKEA, and just before it gave me a nervous breakdown, with unused screws all over the floor, I declared:
"Task complete!"
And, just like that, I was no longer in a lazy slump. It's that simple–although, my couch is a ticking time-bomb.
