This Artist Combined Star Wars and Calvin and Hobbes to Create the Most Perfect Cartoon
Quite possibly the greatest mashup of all time.
You know "Calvin and Hobbes?" The greatest, most stupendous comic book series ever?
And that's not opinion. It's fact.
Well after seeing "The Force Awakens," artist and lifelong "Calvin and Hobbes" fan Brian Kesinger had an incredible idea: create a mashup of the two.
The idea came to Kesinger during the scene where Rey sleds down the massive sand dune by the abandoned Star Destroyer, at the beginning of the movie.
“It struck me that she probably did that as a child,” he told BuzzFeed, “That’s when the Calvin and Hobbes image flashed in my head.”
If you're a lifelong Calvin and Hobbes fan, this is a serious trip down nostalgia lane.
But he didn't stop there. There's more.
So much more.
Kesinger, who's both a story artist for Disney animation studios and an artist for Marvel Comics loves all things Star Wars with an undying passion...
“Bill Watterson has been one of my biggest artistic influences so it was a fun opportunity to combine two of my favorite things.”
That's why, if you're anything like Kesinger and share love for both "Calvin and Hobbes" and Star Wars, his brilliant mashup is pretty much everything.
All the nostalgia. All the feels.
Now all we have to do is convince him to quit his two awesome day jobs and do this full-time.
Be sure to check out more of Kesinger's mashups and the rest of his spectacular work on his Instagram.
