This Gorilla Uses Sign Language To Tell Humanity We Need To Pay More Attention

by N/A, 9 years ago | 2 min read

Sometimes, it's not the message itself, but who it's coming from that makes us think twice.

Koko, a gorilla known worldwide for her sign language proficiency, cares about her Earth - her home. And she has a message for all of us about just how important it is that we protect it. Because it's our Earth too:

Koko learned the sign language speech with the help of her trainers, as well as Noé, a French-based non-profit committed to preserving biodiversity and environmental stability.

Koko begins by introducing herself in a rather unique way. She isn't just her. She is flowers and animals. She is Nature.

Then, she gets right to the point. Koko has love for Earth and man. But does man share that same love for Earth?

She follows up with an appeal - one that scientists everywhere have preached for the past several years.

We've all heard the message, "if we don't start treating the Earth better, horrible things will happen." But a small percentage of us have actually heeded those words.

We keep thinking we've got time to change - that it's not that urgent. But Koko's here to tell us that if we keep putting our Earth off, our opportunity to save it will be gone before we know it.

She pleads with us in the only way she knows how.

It may be a message we've heard countless times - but hearing it from Nature herself makes it all the more compelling.

Let's not let Koko's message fall on deaf ears. It's time we all started truly caring about the planet we call home.
