This Video Will Make You Think Twice About Working Out At The Gym With All These Creepers

by N/A, 9 years ago | 2 min read

If your New Year's resolution has anything to do with getting into shape, you better think twice about joining a gym to pull off that goal. It should go without saying that gyms are saturated with everything from bros to dudes. Okay, the former is the latter, but the latter is the subject of this video's creation: brothers Hudson and Brandon White of YouTube's Buff Dudes decided to show the world how the landscape of workout facilities is not unlike what you might come across in nature.

If you dare decide to get your fitness on in a gym, you must know you may come into contact with a "sexually aroused male" who observes women from a distance…

Okay, wait, this was supposed to be a comedy skit, but that sounds too real and too horrifying for any women who may decide going to a gym is the best way to get in shape. Is it funny that gyms are littered with men like this? The answer should be and is, "No." However, the video goes into detail about how men come here, much like animals in the wild, seeking a mating partner.

So, don't think you can go to the gym without some guy picturing you as a potential reproductive partner, ladies.

No seriously, because then we meet the guy who's willing to come up to these women, who, according to the video, are "flaunting their sexually developed bodies," and not simply working out.

Rest assured, there's certainly guys ogling at women trying to do some harmless workout leaned over a bench, and then a guy decides she's doing that on purpose. That's hilarious, right?! If you still answered, "No," you're keeping up with what's going on here.

And it's not just creepy towards women that gyms bring out in males: it's a creep factor that steadily rises with an increase in age among male counterparts. The video calls these men "the elders" and points out their comfort with nude conversing.

This hip looking young chap simply wants to get something from his locker, but is subject to a line up of towel-less men making business deals or talking about the weather or what the f*ck ever, but why does this need to be done nude? Because it's a gym, and it's apparently where men go to be creepy.

The creepiness of males in gyms isn't solely centered around sexual acts (although, you must admit this picture is filled with innuendo). It's also about just guys freaking everybody out with their routines.

Screaming and yelling and attempting to get the attention of the entire gym in a peacock-like fashion is something anybody who's ever entered a gym has unfortunately witnessed. Is it not downright terrifying? What are they yelling about, and does it really help them lift the weights? Furthermore, what does lifting that much weight really prove? A seat atop the Animal Kingdom that is gym-superiority?

The video is described as: "The Gym. Millions of homo sapiens frequent this urban wilderness. Today we will take a look into this strange place and show you the gym like you've never seen it before." Well, you probably have seen all these creeps before.

Admittedly, there are some comedic moments, such as the teens that hover around one workout machine and just take selfies, but mostly the satire is focused on men staring at women, and that seems less than funny to me. This isn't just some feminist diatribe/takedown of all men, but there is something to be said about said behavior seeming normal or funny.
