This Guy Created Over 40 Amazingly Intricate Drawings From His Memory of a Single Dream

It came to him in a dream. Now, it's his most prized work.

In 2010, artist Vincent Fink had a surreal, lucid dream that had a significant impact on him.

"I dreamed I saw the first piece in this series and I didn’t think it was possible for me to create something of this complexity but I didn’t want this vision to go unseen by the world," Fink writes on Bored Panda.

After studying as much of it as he could, he then retained the vision and drew it out in painstaking detail.

"When I saw it in my dream I remember thinking I shall look at it as long and as hard as I can so I remember everything when I wake up so I can draw it..."

Apparently, the bizarre series of images was more meaningful to him than any other dream he'd had.

"I felt a connection within myself, an intuition or consciousness with this creation. It was the answer to a lost artist seeking direction in life."

The dream, which features "another realm where an ancient Chinese culture praises an otherworldly large larva in a palanquin," proved to be more than just a dream...

After spending months drawing every part of it he could remember, Fink submitted his original drawing to a number of different art competitions.

And years after the initial dream itself, his work went on to be recognized as a finalist for the Hunting Art Prize - the largest monetary reward of any art competition in America - along with winning a number of other art competitions.

Since then, Fink has gone on to make over 40 drawings based on the impactful dream and its vivid imagery.
