Each day of every year National Geographic collects hundreds of talented photographers' submissions, deeming one the "Photo of the Day" based on things like composition, uniqueness, and skill involved.
And at the end of each year, they compile what they consider the top ranked "Photos of the Day," based on social media metrics like "shares, likes, and comments" - in short, a 'best of the best of the best' list, reserved only for the most captivating captures. And they do not disappoint.
