If You're On Your Fifth Cup Of Coffee And Napping All Day, Then You Need To Read This

by N/A, 9 years ago | 2 min read

Googling quickly to see how much sleep adults require I found that the answer is somewhere between seven and nine hours. If that doesn't sound like very much to you, you may want to revisit your sleep habits and figure out what else you could be getting accomplished during the day besides being well-rested, but if that sounds like a lot more than what you're getting, you may be putting yourself at risk.

The risk isn't simply sleepiness either, but instead a few side effects on your health.

The minds over at Business Insider put together this helpful infographic which explains "What too little sleep does to your body," and it's got me thinking about how my insomnia is effecting me, other than being groggy until that third cup of coffee.

Have you noticed any of these things happening to you? If you're having a hard time understanding this infographic, it may be because you're not getting enough sleep. If you're reading this while on the toilet, it may be because you're not getting enough sleep. If you needed to zoom in on this infographic, it may be because you're not getting enough sleep.

Get the point? Get more sleep, and you're overall health and mood may seen a dramatic upswing in positivity.

And, if you're like me and an insomniac, maybe hitting the couch for some extra z's every once and awhile might not be a bad idea.

Yes, Dose is telling you that naps are good for your health, but only if you're not sleeping enough at night. Don't tell your employers the Internet said you should be sleeping on the job otherwise.
