Miss Universe Fooled Us All. The Steve Harvey Mistake Was Not An Accident
Was it intentional or not? A Snapchat video that was quickly taken down calls into question whether Steve Harvey's mistake was honest.
By now you know what happened. Steve Harvey called the wrong country's name and crowned Colombia as Miss Universe.
He quickly apologized and made sure you *knew* it was his mistake and the card had the correct info.
But in this Snapchat, Harvey complains that the teleprompter had the wrong name on it.
It would make sense that Harvey was not paying attention to the card, which had the correct names, and just read off what the teleprompter told him to say.
Just take a look at these kinds of headlines. Judging a woman's worth based on how she can answer weird political questions while they strut around in bikinis? Beauty Pageants' days are numbered and Miss Universe knows this.
For the first time in forever, EVERYONE is talking about Miss Universe.
No, seriously... EVERYBODY. This is the best thing to happen to Miss Universe in years.
The flub made what could've been another boring Miss Universe that nobody watched into a worldwide news event.
It also made us sympathize with both the women. Colombia for experiencing one of the most awkward situations imaginable and Philippines for her cute reaction when she knew the truth.
And there you have it... The people at Miss Universe knew exactly what they were doing and we all fell for it.
That's my tinfoil hat theory and I'm sticking to it.
