In Case You Haven't Been Keeping Your Ponies Warm, We Now Have Pony Onesies

by N/A, 10 years ago | 2 min read

We all know what a Snuggie is: the horrifying fashion creation from those infomercials. Those have hardly ever been considered a cute choice by anybody, but there's not much arguing how warm the comfort inside of them is. Well, what if a similar creation was readily available for animals who spend their days outside, where the frigid temperatures could overtake them? It seems a Snuggie would do the trick, but is it really all that cute?

Fashion sarcastic winter Animals racing Europe Satire Non-Premium

This is Daffy from the Ascot Racecourse in England, where as you know it can get very chilly in the winter months. Now, like we said, there's no arguing whether this article of clothing is protecting him from the weather, because it most certainly is.

However, rather than just do the typical Internet thing and say, "Look at how adorable this pony in a onesie is!" we'd like to take a moment to ponder whether or not this is really all that cute. Simply by looking at Daffy's face, he doesn't seem to be to happy about the situation at hand.

This shot says it all, and we imagine poor Daffy is thinking: "What the hell do they have me wearing? This is SO embarrassing." Just look at how he's staring off into space. That's a look of shame.

Sure, he's probably much warmer than he normally would be, but are we the only ones who notice that look of despair on Daffy's face? Maybe, but maybe not. Do animals really like being dressed up like puppets for our amusement?! We're not saying you should be calling PETA, because Daffy is clearly going to stay warm in that, but maybe give the guy something less frivolous!

Ascot Racecourse says the fashionable attire is being used to promote their upcoming Christmas race weekend. While the video title "Onesie trick pony" is cleverly cute, we imagine Daffy would go bonkers if he knew that was being said about him.

Owner and animal trainer Jackie Rowberry, said in a press release:

“In winter I always worry about Daffy getting chilly as he likes to spend so much time out of his stable." Fair enough, but do we need to point out his shameful look once more?! Stay strong Daffy, we aren't judging you.
