CollegeHumor has been mastering the art of the webcomic lately, and they've done it again. What You Think People Are Thinking vs What They Actually Are is a hilarious new webcomic from Nathan Yaffe, the head illustrator at CollegeHumor, and Willie Muse. The title explains the gist of the comic, but the comic goes deeper into the well-observed dichotomy of social expectation and social reality. It's very funny.

Ah, the classic disconnect.

Sometimes, there can be a huge difference between what you assume someone thinks about you and what they're actually mulling over in their heads.

Because let's face it, you're probably projecting. Your roommate probably doesn't think you're a waste of life–even though you probably are.

Often, what someone else thinks about you is nowhere near as bad as you imagine. And that disconnect is pretty hilarious.

And a lot of these problems can probably be solved by communication. Awkward, sexually-tense communication.

Remember, you're not a mindreader.

You're almost definitely alone in the ridiculous standard to which you hold yourself. And if you don't stop, you'll be alone in all possible ways.

Maybe you think your lady friend is thinking negative things about you because you're obsessed with gender roles.

Trust me bro, she's got other stuff going on.

Or maybe your pal is just generally a really, really nice guy.

This one is actually very sweet in a way. Even though there's a guy puking.

Whatever's really going on, you can be sure the truth is much better than the terrible, mean expectations rolling through your head.

But, sometimes–just sometimes–the truth is a lot worse.

And you probably deserve it. Seriously, don't be this guy. Nobody likes this guy.
