When you stop and think about just how big the planet Earth is and how many billions of people inhabit it, it's pretty easy to start feeling like a measly little spec in the grand scheme of things. Like, how many people actually know that you even exist? It's insane! Not to get too dark, but it's simply true: there's an overwhelming amount of people, and trying to make your mark on the world can be daunting. Depending on where you live, that fact could be more or less evident in everyday life.

For instance, in terms of geography, Greenland is rather large country, but Greenland can fit inside China four times.

Can you imagine trying to stick out in China? That's a lot of land area, and even more people.

The inverse relationship is true here. Italy can fit inside Alaska six times, but Italy clearly has the much larger population.

So, you've got less land area and more people competing for it in Italy, while in Alaska you may not ever see a neighbor.

Those are just a few of the geographical insights that Business Insider has to offer. It's pretty eye-opening when you stop and look around to compare your geographical habitat vs. the number of people living there.
