This Video Of Doughnuts Being Glazed Works As A Barcode For Krispy Kreme Transactions
What's better than a dozen Krispy Kreme glazed doughnuts? Well, two dozen seems like an obvious answer, but making the second dozen free just seems too good to be true. Well, actually it isn't, because as you may or may not know, every year on December 12 Krispy Kreme celebrates Day of the Dozens when that sweet deal is in fact readily accepted. This year Krispy Kreme sweetened the deal even further and brought their glaze into the payment process. Sorry if you missed it, but here's the details.
As you can see, the way the glaze falls, a barcode was created which was able to be scanned and redeemed in honor of the special give-away. Now, the tastiness of the glaze is impressive enough, but turning it into a work of art that can also be used in valid business transactions? That's innovative to say the least.
The video is aptly captioned:
"Yeah, we’re talking about a dozen free doughnuts."
Krispy Kreme explains and names this barcode in a perfectly crafted thought (much like their doughnuts):
"World’s Tastiest Coupon: Real doughnut glaze, making a real barcode, that really scans."
And, my just glazed-over because I realized December 12 is 12/12, i.e. the reason for a Day of the Dozens and now I can't believe I let myself miss this opportunity! Hopefully Krispy Kreme will create something equally creative next year, so those of us who missed out can get in on the glazed-action.
