Art With a Conscious Should Make You Notice Things About Yourself. This Fits the Bill

Tony Futura's art may not be profound, and it may not fall into most people's definition of "art," but it certainly gives an amusing commentary on our modern day's materialistic culture.
And hey, if it's over your head, don't worry about it. That just means it you're one of the ones he's making fun of.
Futura's works aren't complicated, or even artistically impressive really, but they do possess a certain cleverness.
Each one makes fun of modern culture in a different way. Some make reference to eating standards...
Others allude to the replacement of art and education with entertainment and media.
Some provide pithy commentary on universal issues, like global warming...
And others reference things like the digression of religion.
And while Futura's art may be abstract and vague to some...
They all convey a very distinct message.
"Our culture would be a lot better off if we spent our time paying attention to things that mattered" - my words, not his. But you get the idea.
Because if we're being bluntly honest with ourselves...
The things many of us spend the majority of our time on, are, for lack of a better word, insignificant.
Sure, Futura's art is intended to be comedic...
But his message is still apparent: there are more important things to keep up with in the world than the goddamn Kardashians.
Be sure to check out his Tumblr to see more of Futura's creative work.
