This Door Sensor Turns Your Life Into A Sitcom When It Plays The Iconic "Seinfeld" Riff

by N/A, 10 years ago | 1 min read

YouTuber Caliixxs who apparently has "no goals in particular" and just uploads what she likes and/or makes to YouTube certainly has gotten the attention of the masses with this creation sprung from her self-proclaimed lack of motivation. Seinfeld is easily the most recognizable and successful show of all time, and apart from the timeless humor, there is something that is nearly more memorable than the contents of the show: the bass line from the opening/closing credits and between scenes.

We're sure you're making the sound of that funky-as-hell bass riff in your head, or possibly aloud, right about now. If somehow you can't remember how it goes, take a listen here:

Wouldn't it be great if, just like Jerry, Elaine, George and Kramer, every time you entered a new scene (moment) of your life, you were lead into it by a groovy bass guitar riff? It would just make things go by so much faster, considering just like the show, life is really about nothing.

With that in mind, if you agree the bass riff from "Seinfeld" would make your actual life more entertaining, Caliixxs has something very special for you: a door sensor that rips off the bass riff when you enter the room. Watch it in action here:

This clever device was built with a Arduino, infrared sensor and an Adafruit Music Maker Shield. According to Caliixxs, it "waits 7 seconds after playing a sound before it can be triggered again." So, it won't be slappin' bass repeatedly just because you twiddle your thumbs near it.

Caliixxs linked to this Imgur photo explaining this is what the "Seinfeld Bass Riff Door Sensor" looks like when it's installed into a case.

Hopefully she'll start mass producing these things and everybody can feel like they're living within a classic sitcom every time they enter a room. Better start practicing that iconic Kramer barge-in with a slide.
