Sure, we should all be drinking more water, but juice, pop, and energy drinks just taste better. Enter The Right Cup, here to trick your brain into thinking you're drinking something much more delicious than water.
The Right Cup was invented out of medical necessity. When founder Isaac Lavi was diagnosed with diabetes, he was told to drink only water, but hated the taste.
So Lavi, the scent-marketing expert, decided to create a flavorful solution.
The Right Cup manipulates the brain into truly enjoying water.
By using a fruity scent (said to be 80% of taste sensation) and a hint of fruity flavor in the cup itself.
They recommend hand-washing the cup for optimal use, though they also recommend replacing the cup every 6 months to keep the fruity effect fresh.
The FDA-approved aromatic fruit flavors are inserted directly into the cup during production.
The flavors currently include berry, orange, apple, and lemon-lime.
So does it really work? These taste-testers seem to think so.
The Right Cup aims to cut down on childhood obesity and diabetes rates by encouraging water consumption in kids
and adults, as well.
The company is currently being funded by Indie Go Go, and cups are on pre-order.
