Here's How Many Cups Of Coffee A Day You Need In Order To Live Longer
You may have already seen and/or should check out our "12 reasons black coffee on a daily basis is vital to your health," but we've got even more proof that you should be drinking more coffee everyday in the name of your overall health. In fact, this time around we're here to tell you that there is an exact number of cups of coffee you should be drinking, and exactly how those three cups are going to be beneficial to you. Ready to read on? Fill up that coffee mug first–it's for your own good.
A new study from the American Heart Association's journal Circulation points to research showing that 3 to 5 cups of coffee a day means you're less likely to suffer and/or die from the following conditions/deaths:
• chronic conditions like heart disease
• neurological diseases such as Parkinson’s disease
• type 2 diabetes
• suicide
First author Ming Ding, a doctoral student in theDepartment of Nutrition, explained in a press release:
"Bioactive compounds in coffee reduce insulin resistance and systematic inflammation. That could explain some of our findings. However, more studies are needed to investigate the biological mechanisms producing these effects."
Well, if you don't care about the further studies to pin down exactly what the cause is, just relish in the fact that you've got an excuse to drink more coffee.
The best news of it all? The beneficial side effects are shown in both caffeinated and decaffeinated coffee. So, if you're against getting jacked up and feeling higher than you ever have on any drug (understandable), but still want to reap the rewards of coffee, simply drink decaf.
So, now there is absolutely no excuse for everyone to not be drinking coffee daily–looking at you, tea drinkers.
