Here's A Look Back At Katniss Everdeen's Most Badass Moments In "The Hunger Games"
Katniss Everdeen is one badass chick. Her bravery, fearlessness and ability to stand up to protect the people she loves have inspired young women everywhere, and she's even redefined pop culture's female protagonist/heroine.
In honor of the final film, Mockingjay Part 2, hitting theaters on November 20, here's a look back at Katniss' bravest and best moments.
In the first heartbreaking moment of the story, Katniss assures her sister, Prim, that there's a slim chance she would be chosen to participate in the Hunger Games. But Prim is selected, and Katniss bravely volunteers to go in her place, much to Prim's despair.
You don't want to mess with Katniss. This scene from Catching Fire shows just how much skill she has.
This scene is stunning and scary all at the same time, even Katniss is taken aback - but in the best way possible. When Katniss is asked to show off the dress she would have worn to marry Peeta, the dress, created by Cinna, lights on fire and turns into a mockingjay right before everyone's eyes. Take that, Snow.
In another emotional scene, Katniss walks into the hospital in District 8 and looks around at all of the people who need her to fight for them. She knows she must step up because they depend on her, so she takes on the responsibility.
In her first propo, Katniss passionately declares a message of rage to President Snow after the Capitol bombed the hospital. Jennifer Lawrence's phenomenal delivery makes this scene so powerful - it's guaranteed to give you chills every time you watch it.
The ending scene of Catching Fire is pretty damn epic. Katniss breaks the force field into a million pieces by firing an arrow with Beetee's wire attached to it, setting the tributes free.
