This Artist Created Nesting Dolls With A Pop Culture Twist To Them

by N/A, 10 years ago | 4 min read

Andy Stattmiller is a San Francisco-based illustrator who has put his own unique twist on the traditional acrylic on wood doll creations we've grown to love from Russia. Stattmiller's creations take on the look of some of pop culture fiend's favorite characters. Although these intricately designed pieces aren't for sale, they're fun to look at. They're also available for viewing at special art galleries and some are even auctioned off for charitable causes.

Let's check out some of the different world's Stattmiller has taken on in his creations. First up, from a "galaxy far, far away" comes the Star Wars collection.

This would be a stellar addition to any Star Wars fanatic's ever-growing collection of products from the film. This isn't the only movie, or universe Stattmiller takes on with his nesting doll creations. Here's a look at the rest.

A collection of some of your favorite superheroes and super-villains looks a little something like this, ft. He-Man, Iron Man, The Hulk, Captain America and more:
The cartoon-esque Batman collections looks just like what you might have grown up with.
Hellboy and company look just as you would've imagined as well.
"The Big Lebowski" featuring the Folgers can and 'The Dude' with a white Russian is just marvelous.
Skeletor being larger than He-Man seems a little unsettling, but the artistic detail supersedes that nerdy observation.
The crew from "Pulp Fiction" with all the details you remember them by, namely a bloody Vincent Vega (John Travolta) and disgruntled Jules Winnfield (Samuel L. Jackson).
So, follow Stattmiller on Instagram for updates on his latest creations, such as the bounty hunter collection from the "Star Wars" universe.

You don't want to miss out on announcements for when these items actually get auctioned off, because the proceeds go to a good cause, and well, we know you want these.

Plus, Stattmiller even gives some insights into the intricate process, like here with Chewbacca.

Well done, Andy, these nesting dolls are even fit for a group of adults to sit around and play with unapologetically. These are the perfect trinkets to pay homage to some of your favorite pop culture moments, so be sure to keep up with Stattmiller's work as often as you can.
