You hold a special place in your heart for Starbucks, so it only makes sense you know how to take advantage of its perks for the sake of your wallet and your sanity. Let's indulge.

1. Ask for *no water* in your iced tea to get more flavor.

Iced teas are watered down when they're given to you, but if you ask for no water in your tea the barista will just add the required amount... and thus, you'll get a much stronger flavor.

2. Score yourself a $2 "iced latte" by ordering a Venti triple espresso over ice... then go over to the condiment area and fill up the cup with milk.

Sneaky.

3. Get a refill for 50 cents during the same visit.

Starbucks' refill policy isn't really talked about, but as long as you don't leave the store, you can refill a tall iced coffee, tall iced or hot tea, or tall tall brewed coffee for just 50 cents. More on their refill policy here.

4. Save 10 cents if you bring in your own reusable cup/mug.

5. Instead of getting a Caramel Macchiato, try ordering a Marble Mocha Macchiato... it has a stronger flavor and there's more mocha/caramel balance.

6. Order a "short" size to save money and calories.

The "short" is Starbucks' secret size. It's just 8 oz., compared to a tall which is 12 oz., but the short size is great if you're looking for just a little pick-me-up and/or want to be frugal.

7. If you don't want your drink to be scalding hot, order it at "kid's temperature."

The baristas just add a touch of cold milk/water so you don't burn your tongue off.

8. Don't bother buying a bottle of water when you can ask the barista for iced water instead.

One of the best things about Starbucks is their triple filtered free ice water. Take advantage of it.

9. When getting a Frappuccino with an extra shot, ask for it "affogato style" so they pour the shot on top of the drink. Way more flavor.

10. Sign up for the Starbucks Rewards Program (it's free!) to get the Birthday Treat... aka a free drink on your birthday... aka the best birthday gift ever.

11. Last but not least, get that Starbucks card!
