This Composer Created An Album That Has Music Only Your Cat Will Truly Understand
Composer David Teie has created a cat music album that is backed by research from psychologists at the University of Wisconsin and supported by the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA). What exactly is a cat music album? Well, it's "based on feline vocal communication and environmental sounds that pique the interest of cats," according to Teie.
Still, what does that mean though? We'll explain.
Essentially humans and cats differ when it comes to taste in music (obviously). Teie explains, "Most of our sense of music comes from the womb. We form an understanding of rhythm from our mother's pulse. Cats establish theirs after birth from the sounds around them." It comes from birds chirping or a mother's purr. Anything they may hear when they're newborn.
With the backing of collegiate level study, the ASPCA (a donation of the proceeds will go to the organization) and a stamp of approval from these famous felines, it's no wonder the Music For Cats album has taken off with such phenomenal feedback and excitement.
But don't let that stop you: backers can still pledge their donation to the album funding to secure a download or CD set.
Really, the sounds are quite relaxing and we contend that even the owners of cats will enjoy this composition as well. It's a win-win for you and your furry feline friend.
