Every year, Ikea's Soft Toys for Education campaign partners with UNICEF and Save the Children to help raise funds for schools, supplies, and other educational opportunities. This year, Ikea challenged kids to draw the toys they wanted to see being sold for the campaign. You won't believe the adorable and creative ideas they came up with! See how their drawings came to life.
Children are the brains behind Ikea's 'Soft Toys for Education' campaign this year, and we've got some real winners here.
The furniture retailer told kids to 'let their imaginations run wild,' which some kids took to the extreme.
This one tooth, one-eyed guy is just begging you to love him.
The company accepted submissions from kids around the world, and chose ten drawings to bring to life.
With every soft toy bought between October 18 and December 19, Ikea donates one euro to Save the Children and UNICEF.
This also includes children's books, dress up clothes and children's card games that were sold as well.
Kids let their creativity run rampant, and it's hard not to fawn over their innovative designs.
British schoolgirl Olivia Wildman was the artist who created 'Stinky' the skunk, who appears to be having a rough day based on that quizzical expression.
"We fell in love with Olivia’s drawing when we first saw it, and we have stayed true to her illustration, right down to the little legs and quizzical expression that give it a character all of its own," Carol McSeveney, IKEA Children's sales leader, said.
Then, there's this beautiful, puffy unicorn.
The final creations show that anything is possible with children's imaginations," McSeveney says.
It definitely appears so!
Ikea hopes to raise 700,000 euros in the UK and Ireland, to reach a grand total of 77 million euros since it began in 2003.
