If You Are a Male Using a Dating App, Include These 4 Elements in Your Selfies
Online dating has become way less taboo in the past few years, yet many people still struggle to find matches... thanks to bad pictures! A study uncovered the elements that both men and women look for when deciding to swipe left or right. They might surprise you!
First impressions are literally everything in the online dating world. A study published on OK Cupid analyzed 7,000 profile pictures of men and women, judging facial attitude, photo context and skin shown, and measured how many matches the individual got.Â
Women like men who are looking DOWN and AWAY in their profile photos - not directly into the camera! While men prefer women who look directly into the camera and smile, women prefer men who are NOT smiling by a huge margin.
No one wants to see six straight selfies in a row. Ew. Women responded better to men who are caring for animals in their pictures, or having a fun time out with friends. Animals in pictures did however, receive a better response.
Basically, if you got it, flaunt it. While too many shirtless pictures are disgusting and egotistical (especially if they have dad bod), women responded well to men who confidently showed off their best physical features - be it their abs, hair, fashion, scruff, whatever!
Look, of course girls are analyzing YOU, but we want to know that you're not absolutely obsessed with yourself. Girls are more interested in men who are doing something in their pictures and not just staring creepily into the camera.
