Can You Guess Which US State Norwegians Are Using as a Synonym for the Word "Crazy?"

You guys, this shit is freaking Texas.
Texas Monthly recently discovered via a Tumblr account, that Norwegians commonly use the word "Texas" as slang for something "crazy" or "out of control."
Although skeptical at first, they went on to confirm that the term is indeed widely used.
Take this article from "Aviso Nordland" from last year, for example, where Norwegian police chief Knut Danielson describes reckless truck driving as “absolutely Texas.â€
Or this article from "Verdens Gang" that states the atmosphere of a soccer game was so crazy, it could only be only be described as “totally Texas.â€
And when a fisherman caught a swordfish and was asked to describe it to the local news? You guessed it. “It was totally Texas!â€
And yes, we know that's not a swordfish. We're not Texas.
So how the hell did this all come about? What's the thinking behind Norway's Texas usage of Texas? Fortunately, an actual Norwegian (sort of) explains.
"When I think of the word I picture a cowboy crashing a party and shooting two revolvers into the air. ‘It’s completely Texas!'" the Reddit user says.
Well that makes complete sense now. In fact, I'd be willing to wager that's how most people think of Texas.
Because everyone knows Texas is pretty much a real-life overplayed, old western movie. And if you don't think so, well, you're batshit Texas.
