When These Two Statues Pass Through Each Other, Your Heart Will Break

Georgian artist Tamara Kvesitadze created these steel structures in homage to a Romeo & Juliet-like tale. Located in Batumi, Georgia, the statues pass through each other every day, and it is amazing to watch.
The installation is called the "Statue of Love," and was created by Tamara Kvesitadze, an artist from Georgia.
At 23 feet tall, the statues tell the love story of Nino, a Georgian princess, and Ali, a muslim boy.
The couple faces considerable strife through their romance, due to societal pressures and their vastly different cultural upbringings.
After the invasion of Georgia by Soviet Russia, the two become separated, never to see each other again.
The two statues begin moving toward each other every night around 7. For several seconds, the two interlock–until, once again, they move through each other like ghosts. The entire process takes only a few minutes to complete.
So beautiful yet so very sad. They cannot stay in each other's arms forever, which I suppose is true of all lovers.Â
WHY CAN'T LOVE BE EASY?
