Would you consider beard growing and manicuring an art? These guys do, and they take it very seriously. Here are the 2015 champs.
The contest was hosted this year in Leogang, Austria, and takes place every few years.

In previous years, the contest has been hosted in Anchorage, Alaska, Brighton, UK, and Portland, Oregon, which shouldn't come as a surprise.
More than 300 contests attended the 2015 World Beard and Moustache Championships.
The contest was judged under the umbrella of three groups: "full beard," "partial beard," and "moustache," which begs the question: where's the "partial moustache" group?
There are 16 traditional categories in the Championships. Each category explains a particular style of beard or moustache.

The category as explained on The World Beard and Moustache Championships website: "Slender with the tips curled upward. Hairs growing from beyond the corner of the mouth must be shaved. The tips may not extend above the level of the eyebrows. Styling aids* permitted."

This guy won the Full Beard Freestyle category.
The "Full Beard Freestyle" category, as explained on The World Beard and Moustache Championships website: "Free design and styling of the beard. All full beards not meeting the criteria for other categories may compete in this category. Styling aids* permitted."

Though the competition is serious, it is by no means devoid of fun and sportsmanship.
