See The Steel Giants Meant to Bring Icelanders Their Electricity

These unique structures are electric.Â

Electricity pylons are usually seen as an eyesore.

However, a Massachusetts-based architecture company and Swedish energy company are working together to make them beautiful.

Both companies submitted a design proposal called "The Land of Giants."

The team proposed that they create giant humanoid pylons that stretch across Iceland's volcanic land.

The figures stand at 150 feet tall and would be constructed from steel, glass, and concrete.

The functional and beautiful constructions have multiple awards, but, unfortunately, were never built.Â
