It's sort of like your twins... but not.
1. You were often forced to wear the same clothes for family photos.
When you were younger it was fun, but it got old fast.
2. When it came to birthday and holidays, you always got the same toys.
Seriously, you would have thought your parents would be a little bit more clever.Â
3. And those times you didn't get the same thing, you were educated on the "sharing is caring" principle, which got ugly fast.
4. You always had a sleepover buddy.
Occasionally, they involved pillow fights.
5. People always tell you that you look alike, even if you look like polar opposites.
You just learned to smile and accept it.
6. If you were brother and sister, when you got older people would assume you were a couple when you were together in public.
It would be especially awkward when you went out to eat together.
7. You could be as mean as you want and know that they'd still love you no matter what.
8. Speaking of meanness, you knew EXACTLY what to say to push each other's buttons.
9. The older sibling would always try to trick the younger sibling, but there came a point when they stopped buying into their lies.
We were smarter than you think.
10. The younger sibling even found ways to manipulate the older sibling to get what they want.
11. Of course, you had your fair share of arguments that often resulted in screaming at the top of your lungs.
You'd usually make up five minutes later.
12. When you were little you might have taken a few hits at each other, but once puberty hit and one turned out way taller than the other that stopped.
13. No matter how much you fought, you'd still have each other's backs.
14. You share friends.
Maybe even had crushes on each other's friends.
15. You always find stuff to laugh about even though you're as different as night and day.
Studies have shown that siblings share similar personalities only 20 percent of the time, according to NPR.
16. Plus, you don't even need words to communicate.
You just get each other.
