These Japanese Umbrellas Will Have You Begging For A Rainy Day
By now, you may have heard of the Seattle-based project Rainworks and their rain-activated designs that they've scattered throughout the city to brighten people's commutes on rainy days.
Well, several Japanese companies have taken that concept and applied it to umbrellas, giving people a different reason to smile during bad weather.
The science behind them is simple. The umbrellas' designs are made by coating their shapes with a water-absorbent substance - allowing them to darken and thus, stand out. The rest of the umbrella's surface is coated with a hydrophobic water-repellant substance, keeping it not only dry, but contrastively lighter.
The options are many and you can find them on Amazon for a fair price. Like, here, here, or Don't write them off. Rainy days can be good days. You just need to change how you see them!
