Most of us are our own biggest critics - that's no real mystery. And in a world filled with cultures where success is defined by the money we make, or fame we achieve, it's pretty much instinctual for us to compare ourselves with those at the top of those lists. Naturally, this leaves us feeling inadequate.
But what Strayer University is arguing, is that the definition of success should be changed from being about riches and fame, to being about happiness. Too often we see ourselves as less than what we are because we're not the world's definition of "success." Well, maybe it's time we took on some new perspective.
Strayer interviewed several college students and graduates and asked them how they'd rate themselves in terms of success on a 1-10 scale. Naturally, most didn't rate themselves very high.
Then, they asked how their loved ones would score them.
Without giving too much away, let's just say they didn't necessarily agree with them.
Grab the tissues for this one, folks.
