This Turkish Couple Just Defied Tradition By Making Their Wedding Day About Everyone Else
For almost every couple, their wedding day is "their day" - particularly the bride's - as it should be. It's the most momentous thing either person will do in their entire lives - it should be about them.
But Turkish couple Fethullah Üzümcüoğlu and Esra Polat decided to forego that, and made "their day" about others in far more need.
Kilis is located just north of the Syrian border and has been a popular safe-haven for Syrian refugees since 2011 when the conflict began. Since then, roughly four million Syrians have fled their war-torn country.
Working together with charity Kimse Yok Mu, the couple stood behind the counter, still dressed in their wedding attire, and spent the entire day serving their Syrian neighbors.
If this isn't an example of how to love your fellow man, I don't know what is. We could all learn a lesson in from these two.
