By now, Cecil the lion's death, which came at the hands of Minnesota dentist and "recreational hunter" Walter Palmer, has been covered by just about every media outlet in the world. But the outpouring of contempt for the tragedy has sparked a resurgence of public conversation around wildlife conservation - something that's been grievously absent for years.
Organizations are coming out of the woodwork to take a stand for our rapidly deteriorating animal kingdom, setting up wildlife initiatives of their own. Recently, Ty Inc, the makers of "Beanie Babies," have jumped on the wagon, announcing the manufacturing of a commemorative "Cecil the Lion" Beanie Baby in his honor.
