When Christine Quinn asked her 89-year-old grandmother, Nana Betty, to be a bridesmaid at her wedding, she more than just a little taken aback. Right away, and numerous times after, she questioned whether or not her granddaughter was sure about the choice. But Quinn was more than resolute.
At the wedding, just a few months later, Quinn only ended up feeling better about her decision, as Nana Betty ended up being the life of the party. She even went on the party bus, instead of 'staying home to rest,' like she told her daughter (Quinn's mother). What a rebel!
“She asked me about 10 times, ‘Are you sure?’ and ‘Why would you want an old lady in your bridal party?'â€
“She had the entire wedding party laughing with her words of wisdom and funny comments throughout the day.â€
“She just has an amazing sense of humor and outlook on life that I strive to emulate every day. Everyone loves her.â€
“You’re only as old as you feel and I feel young today,†Nana Betty told Quinn.
Words to live by, Nana Betty!
