This Video Of 1000 Italian Musicians Performing A Foo Fighters Song Is Absolutely Epic
If you knew anything about rock music, you'd know that the Foo Fighters are arguably one of the biggest bands of all time, and easily the biggest of our day. Led by widely-loved frontman Dave Grohl, who also played as the drummer for the equally renowned Nirvana, the band enjoys constant sell-out crowds and a cultic fan following. And I do mean cultic.
Take this video for example. In it, 1,000 musicians from the Romagna region of Italy come together to play the Foo Fighters hit classic "Learn to Fly" in goosebumps-inducing unison, all in an effort to convince Dave Grohl and company to return there to play a show - something they haven't done since 1997. The Foo Fighters haven't officially responded yet, but with the video garnering millions of hits already, I'd put my money on it happening very soon.
Oh, and you might be wondering, "how were they able to orchestrate this whole thing??" Great question. It's got an even better answer.
Fans started a large crowdfunding campaign and raised nearly $50,000 for equipment, and tech and camera crews. The endeavor took over a year to orchestrate.
