The Korean Makeup Trend That Promises A Flawless Face

Your makeup will last all day if you do this.
If you keep up with the Kardashians, then you’re probably familiar with the baking, a highlighting technique that uses concealer and translucent powder to set makeup and give skin a smooth, creaseless finish that lasts for hours. Kim’s makeup artist swears by it, so that might be why her face always looks flawless. Well, a new Korean makeup trend called “jamsu” pretty much debunks that whole routine. Jamsu (submerging) involves dunking your face in water…after you complete your makeup. Yes, it totally seems counterintuitive, and dunking your face in cold water frankly doesn’t seem like fun. But for flawless makeup, anything is on the table, right? Here’s how the whole process works: Step 1: Wash your face, moisturize and apply makeup like you normally would. Primer, foundation, concealer, etc. Step 2: Pour loose powder (baby powder works, too) into your hands and pat it all over your face. Do this until your face is clouded with powder. Step 3: Pour water into a big bowl and submerge your face completely for about 30 seconds. You’ll want to spend less time under the water if your skin is on the dry side. Step 4: Pat your face dry and your makeup will be set and flawless! Jamsu is supposed to give your face a “matte” look and prevent smudges and clumping. For someone with oily skin, this seems like a dream come true. The technique has been all the rage amongst K-beauty vloggers, so watch YoonCharmi below and give it a try!✕
