Did you ever want to climb a tree, but couldn't find a way to get to the top of it? Well, these designers just solved all of your problems. Or, at least, the tree-climbing one. Designers Thor te Kulve and Robert McIntyre created a spiral staircase that can safely attach to any tree. Making all your tree-climbing dreams come true.
This is what the finished staircase would look like:
The stairs are made of birch steps. The birch steps are strapped and grip the side of the tree trunk with thick, neoprene pads.
As you attach the steps you can add a handrail for extra support and guidance while you continue to add steps and climb the tree.
The designers say that building a 7m staircase would take 2 people about 3 hours to create and only about 30 minutes to take apart.
They have also worked with arboriculturalists at Hampstead Heath to ensure that their stairs will not cause any damage to the trees.
