In roughly one year's time, "Gundam" will become real life. Or "Voltron." Or "Power Rangers." Whatever your cultural point of reference is, this is going to be awesome.
Giant robot makers, MegaBots Inc, recently completed the finishing touches on America's first giant, piloted, fighting robot, the Mark II.
And in their words, "Because we're American, we've added really...big...guns."
The Mark II stands at a staggering 15 feet tall and weighs roughly 6 tons. With a rusty finish, it moves on tank-like treads, can hold two pilots, and fires giant paintballs at speeds up to 100mph.
The Mark II comes on the heels of Suidobashi Heavy Industry's creation of the world's first man-operable giant robot, Kuratas.
Weighing in at 9,000 pounds and standing at a lesser, but still absurd 12 feet tall, the more polished Kuratas packs twin gatling BB guns, a hyper-advanced targeting system, has wheels instead of treads, and is manned by only one pilot.
Japan has a giant robot, and now, America has a giant robot. Naturally, MegaBots decided there was only one thing to do: challenge them to a duel.

And here's Suidobashi Heavy Industry's much-anticipated response:
