3-D printing is allowing people to create and distribute almost anything, but what happens when they start using this technology to create weapons? A University of Texas law student is doing just that and could be redefining gun control in the process.Â
This is Cody Wilson. He's a 25-year-old law student who uses 3-D printing technology to create semiautomatic weapons.
He can create lower receivers and magazines and turn those CAD files into tangible objects with the click of a button.
Wilson has faced lots of criticism because he was printing these parts without a license for a firearm.
Check out this video for more about how Cody got started and his plans for his company, Defense Distributed which supports the open source production of firearms.
