11 Tips Every Starbucks Addict Needs To Know
Secrets of a former 4-year barista...
Order hot tea and chai teabags, then ask them to top it off with hot milk. Not only is it more flavorful, but it's cheaper too.
Try an Americano. Being espresso-baed, they're much richer than most of the drinks. They also pack a bigger caffeine punch. If you want to soften the bitterness though, all you have to do is add milk.
Ask for 'no water,' and the barista will add only in the required amount, so that way your drink will maintain its flavor better.
If you want a more natural taste, you should opt for Starbucks’ more organic teas.
Ask for it to be made “affogato style.†They’ll pour the shot on top of the drink, rather than first, which creates a more balanced shot-to-drink ratio.
Order it at a “kid’s temperature." The drink will be served at drinking temperature and you'll avoid scalding your mouth.
But you can ask them to make it "without water," making the cinnamon/chai flavors much richer.
Their half-and-half refreshers, which are hardly promoted, are incredibly, well, refreshing.
Go with a Marble Mocha Macchiato. It's a lot more flavorful, and contains a better balance of white mocha and caramel.
Order a "Doppio," which is essentially a richer espresso-based version of it, then pour in whichever milk you prefer yourself. Save this one for the cute barista you're trying to impress.
It makes much more sense to order a French press of coffee, rather than getting up and paying for multiple drinks.
